Tent24 is a WordPress theme and plugin designed for car or auto dealers. The theme and plugin make it easy for the site owner to post vehicles for sale, manage inventory, run specials, etc. Here is the auction listing for Tent24 at Flippa.

The current owner says he made about $2000 in 2 weeks by selling to local dealers. There are no online sales yet.
How it Makes Money
The current owner makes has two payment options:
- Selling a single license for $599
- The owner hosts the site for the customer for a recurring fee of $39.99 per month (or $29.99 for an annual license)
The current owner has made sales to several small local dealerships.
Other Details
The owners will assist getting the site moved over to the purchasers hosting and will provide 30 days of support on the software.
Payment Forms Accepted
Bank wire, cashiers check or Western Union. All payments are required in full before any file transfers.
My Comments
I think this is a great idea. I can imagine that car dealers may not be the most tech savvy people and this theme and plugin would take a lot of the hassle out of managing a dealership website. Not only that, but Tent24 would allow them to do it for a lot less than a custom designed webpage. However, owning this site would require the owner to make sales calls, give training and offer some technical support. This site is not for those looking for passive income.
The seller has a good trust rating of +7 and has made previous sales on Flippa, however, the payment terms highly favor the seller since no files will be transferred until full payment is made. The seller has linked his Flippa account with his web design business website (BrownsPortfolio.com), which links to his twitter account leading me to believe that this is unlikely to be a scam.

I saw that listing live. I thought it was a very creative idea, and I can see the potential in the site, so I am going to say it was a good deal.

Hey Matt, thanks for stopping by! That’s really too bad that the seller didn’t pay. Any idea why or what happened?
So what’s happening with it now? Is it re-listed for free on Flippa?
I was actually planning on doing a “follow-up” story by trying to get in contact with the new owner, like a month from now to see how things were going with the buyer’s investment. I guess I’ll have to do that with one of the other sites I’ve featured.
