What I Like About the Site
This site is well set-up and ready to go. There are 450 RSS readers and newsletter subscribers, 270 facebook fans, and 3200 twitter followers. The site also incorporates a job board, which is currently free to post on, but which could be a revenue stream in the future. It is under utilized at the moment with the only listings shown being from mid-October.
For a blog, this appears to be fairly low maintenance. Much of the post text and pictures come from official press releases. The seller says that this is what most art and design blogs do. The buyer will also get support and instructions on how to run the site including where to get posting material among other things.
Also, the seller has elected to pay the Flippa success fee.
What I don’t Like About This Site
This site has been listed twice before without a buyer. That would make me a bit nervous. The minimum bid is $4,900 but there may be a much higher reserve. This may be because of the uncertainty regarding the advertisers continued support.
While the job board may indeed yield future revenue, this remains VERY uncertain and should not really be included in any valuation.
Because of the minimalist angle of this blog, I would be hesitant to increase the amount of advertising on the blog by any substantial amount.
The Final Word
This seems like a great chance to purchase a very nice blog that is easy to run, provided you can get it for considerably less than the BIN price.
