Mum Zone looks looks like a very high quality pregnancy, baby, toddler and parenting website for Australian Mums. The site was launched in 2007 to fill a niche in the market for good information on pregnancy and the years following. Mum Zone is award winning and has been featured by magazines, newspapers and numerous other websites.
The site has significant traffic and 14,000 newsletter subscribers. Also included in the sale is www.babynews.com.au (media release website), www.babybusiness.com.au (self-managed directory of relevant businesses) and several keyword-related domain names which link to the site.
What to Like About the Site
Mum Zone has solid revenue and profit, earning $1800 net on $2500 gross per month. Revenue appears to be mainly through advertising although it appears to be diversified. The site also does newsletter advertising, affiliate gift guides and paid listings on one of their sister sites. Traffic has been growing steadily since launch over 2.5 years ago.
What not to Like About MumZone
The seller prefers an Australian buyer (one reason I, personally am not interested) because there are significant restrictions to registering a .com.au domain (as detailed in the auction on Flippa). Not to mention, that the site is specifically set up for Australian mums. The seller works between 20 and 30 hours per week on the site! This is not for those like me who are seeking passive income! However, for the right Australian work at home mum, this could be a good opportunity.
